14 Jahre Unternehmertum

Dieses Jahr ist das Gründerteam der Peperoni Software GmbH zum Schlosshotel Holzrichter in Veserde-Wiblingwerde gefahren, um dort abseits des Alltags zu tagen. Wie es sich in einem anständigen Management Workshop gehört, haben wir den Schwerpunkt der Tagung auf das strategische Management mit allen drum und dran gelegt; strategische Zielplanung, strategische Analyse, Strategieentwicklung, Strategieimplementierung und Kontrollmechanismen.

Hof Schulte Saldenberg – Alles aus der Pfanne

Nach einer Runde Stollen, Glühwein und Wichteln im Peperoni-Büro, sind wir (Andree, Codruta, Kai, Maciej, Marcus, Oliver, Peter, Sandra, Thomas B. und Thomas P.) anschließend zum Pfannkuchenhof in Witten-Herbede gefahren, um dort ein leckeres Weihnachstessen zu genießen. Ich hatte einen ganz schön mächtigen Apfel-Pfannkuchen mit Zucker, Zimt und Vanille-Eiscreme.

Webciety – Treffpunkt für das Internet Business auf der CeBIT

Heute habe ich mir auf der CeBIT die Hallen 6 (Internet & Mobile Solutions), 7 (CeBIT Destination ITS) und 8 (CeBIT Green IT & TeleHealth/eHealth) angeschaut. Interessant war vor allem die Bemühungen von Google ihren Dienst google street view ins rechte Licht zu rücken und die Podiumsdiskussion zu “Nutzen der erweiterten Realität des mobile Webs”. Im sog. CeBIT Webciety, einen Bereich der CeBIT, der sich dem Internet widmet, gab es den ganzen Tag auch andere interessante Vorträge und Podiumsdiskussionen z.B. zum Themen wie “Die Zukunft der sozialen Netzwerke”, “Herausforderungen und Potenziale des mobilen Arbeitens” und “Einführung in die App Economy” – und auch hier trifft man immer wieder auf alte Bekannte wie Sarik Weber (Hanse Ventures), Ilja Laurs (getjar) und Robert Günther (smaato) :o)

Und auch bei uns am NRW-Gemeinschaftsstand war heute viel los, aber zum Glück kamen noch Dr. Sonja Ganguin und Dr. Andreas Bischoff zur Unterstützung. An unserem Messestand dürften wir heute nicht nur den Staatssekretär Karl Peter Brendel, sondern auch einige Personen aus der Heimat begrüßen; Bernd Müller (FernUniversität in Hagen), Marcus Ladwig (Peperoni), Dr. Michael Stepping (avinotec) und Richard Sotke (avinotec). Nicht zu vergessen auch unsere Verbundpartner Karsten Meier (handylearn) und Dominik Wagner (helpmaster).

My third christmas party this year was together with my team mates from Peperoni. After doing a secret Santa at the office we went for a nice dinner at the Restaurant International.

Every year our team goes for a ‘bigger’ workshop where we use to have different sessions and lectures dealing with the work at Peperoni. This time we went for 4 days to CenterParcs Hochsauerland. But beside the work we also had a good opportunity to celebrate and just have some fun time. But I don’t really understand why not many of my team mates joined the early morning exercises :o)

‘Mobile internet for everybody’ is the vision and mission of Peperoni since 2000, because we always loved the mobile web :o) We are pleased to support this campaign with our mobile UGC services for all enthusiastic users worldwide who wants to discover the boundless possibilities of the mobile web!

Talks about apprenticeship in SIHK Hagen

In the evening I attend a roadshow for school leavers about apprenticeship, career and studies as an experienced adviser from Peperoni. I was honored to be invited by the Rotary Club Hagen to this event, which took place in our Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Hagen. My table had the number #37 (of 51) and the focus on computer science, software development and systems integration. I was sitting together with some ‘old’ friends; Carsten Schippang from the FernUniversität in Hagen (I am a Ph.D. candidate there) and Thomas Spruth from adesso in Dortmund (my colleague Thomas Bühren used to work there during his studies). All in all this event was well attended, very interesting, but also very exhausting with answering all the questions of the young people :o)

The internet is evil, the internet is good and the internet is a fantastic treasure trove. Today we discovered the famous and gorgeous Aishwarya Rai [ ऐश्वर्या राय - wordpress.com can handle hindi letters :o] with some lovely red peperonis. She was Miss World back in 1994 and seems to be a very idolized actress in India.

It was time for me to visit for the first time the Mobile Entertainment Market (MEM) – the official annual event of the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF). This year the MEM was arranged in the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo. I was especially interested in the topics “Mobile Communities & User Generated Content”, “Going Direct to Consumer with Off-Deck Services”, “Creatively Promoting Content so Consumers can Easily Discover it” and “Promotional Strategies”.

In the evening I visit the Meffys Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony in the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo. We had an invitation to join the admob table, which I shared together with Russell (admob), Ivanka (admob), Marcus (Peperoni), Jim (MobiAdNews), Jack (AMV, Blue Stream Mobile), Dan (AMV, Blue Stream Mobile), Hervé (abphone.com) and Sabine, (gofresh, my favorite copycat). I had a great chat with Jim about the development of the mobile ad market, but it was also interesting to hear about the challenges of Blue Stream Mobile. And the big surprise was admob wining ‘The Innovative Business Model Award’! Read about the unforgettable impressions on Russells blog :o)

All in all it the Mobile Entertainment Market is a great event for networking, but I was a little bite disappointed that some of the announced speakers mist, like Joanna Shields (President International, bebo) or Graham Thomas (Head of Data Product Marketing, T-Mobile), and that there were not so many exhibitors in place. You can read about similar impressions on GoMo News and KAsiUNblog.
