Seychelles, La Digue, La Digue Island Lodge

The next island to discover on the Seychelles was La Digue. With a fast catamaran ferry called ‚coco de mer‘ I first made a one hour journey from Mahé Jetty to Praslin Jetty. And then I go with a smaller ferry to the La Digue Jetty, not far away from the hotel La Digue Island Lodge. Living directly on the beach ‚Anse La Réunion‘ in a chalet built of Takamaka wood and thatched with latanier leaves doesn’t really feel you staying in a typical hotel. And I got to two pets inclusive; a funny red little bird and a green gecko living in the air conditioning of the chalet 🙂

Island transfer, beach chalet, chalet view and new friends 🙂

In size La Digue is the fourth largest granitic island of Seychelles measuring 5 km in length and 3 km in breadth with a total surface area of 4 square kilometer. With about 2.500 people living on La Digue, it is the third largest island in the Seychelles in terms of population. And the island has really great beaches; today I explored Grand Anse, Petite Anse and Anse Cocos on the other side of the island.
